According to Cheryl’s profile, she worked at Walmart and lived in Lockport, Illinois. They did appear to go snowmobiling together back in 2013, but it’s unclear how long they were together.

Cheryl Schriefer killed by her Husband Patrick Jesernik

Police said the doors and windows of the residence were locked from the inside, so the police and firefighters had to force their way into the house. Patrick and Cheryl were found in separate rooms of the residence, and both died when the police arrived, with “a buildup of blood around their heads”. They added that Patrick was found next to a revolver loaded with two spent shell cartridges and three live ammunition.
There was no sign of struggle at home. The welfare check that led the police to visit was due to the fact that Patrick’s parents feared that they would not have heard from their son for some time.
The autopsy of the two individuals was completed on April 3 and it was determined that they had both died from a single gunshot wound to the head. Police said, “Cheryl Schriefer was shot in the head at close range, and her death is considered a homicide. Patrick died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and his death is considered suicide. ”

Investigations

At about 8 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 400 block of Bruce Road for a wellbeing check and found Patrick Jesernik, 54, and Cheryl Schriefer, 59, lying dead in separate rooms of the house, the Will County sheriff’s office said. A loaded revolver with two spent shells and three live rounds was located near Patrick Jesernik’s body.
Family arriving to the home told police that Jesernik had been afraid that he and his wife had contracted the coronavirus, and that Schriefer was tested two days ago after stating she was having a hard time breathing, authorities said. The family said that to their knowledge, they had not yet received the test results.
An autopsy conducted Friday found that Schriefer and Jesernik both died from a single gunshot to the head, with Jesernik’s death ruled a suicide and Schriefer’s death ruled a homicide, authorities said. Both tested negative for coronavirus.
